Through our focus on continuous innovation, we strive to constantly improve customer satisfaction and provide more added value to business relationships. LEMAR is currently run by the third and fourth generations of the family.

After dealing with the unprecedented impact caused by the pandemic, the European textile industry faces another complex challenge due to geopolitical, macroeconomic and environmental uncertainties.
Despite these difficulties, we have set clear and challenging targets to achieve our sustainability strategy and ambitions. At Lemar, the term sustainability is not a buzzword, it has been a priority objective for several years!
In fact, the investment we have made in innovative raw materials has allowed us to structure our collections with a greater number of fabrics produced with recycled fibers or with less environmental impact!
From ocean-collected plastic to bio-based fibers, from industrial waste to PET plastics, from organic waste to fibers obtained by recycling end-of-life tires, we present several alternatives that offer advantages in all areas of sustainability.
We are confident that our strong commitment to innovation and service excellence will continue to drive our work and create long-term added value for our customers, partners and communities.

LEMAR’s roots go back to 1939, when Leandro Magalhães D’Araújo, the grandfather of the current CEO, started his company. The primary objective was to manufacture fabrics for the former Portuguese colonies in Africa.
Three decades later, in 1969, Américo Salgado de Araújo, son of the founder, decided to write a new industrial chapter for the company by acquiring the first waterjet looms in Portugal.
This refurbishment was designed to support the new market strategies and to focus on the production of fabrics for outerwear.
Currently it is Manuela Araújo, granddaughter of the founder and her sons, Armindo and Alfredo Araújo, who lead this company and ensure the continued legacy of ethics, excellence and leadership.
LEMAR fabrics are present in fashion brands all over the world.
